Jot down a few things that make you happy, where you feel connected with your soul, nature or another person. It could be gardening, reading a good book, helping others, exercising, completing a project, spending time on a hobby or just drinking a cup of tea and relaxing. Do one joyful, healthy activity a day and if you can do more that's even better. In addition, each day think of three things you are grateful for such as your home, coffee, your job, that you have food to eat, chocolate, a friend, a pet or a loved one. Limit your computer/screen time. We can get so busy with our lives that we don't take time for ourselves. These things will change your life and make it better!
Track your progress on a calendar or a gratitude journal. Everyday, write down the activity you did that brought you joy and three things that you are grateful for. Writing this down will keep you on track and is a great tool for reflecting on your accomplishments (no matter how small) and for reminding you how much good is in your life. If you'd like to join the next Joy Lab 21 day challenge, send me an email and I will contact you when the next challenge is starting.
After going through the Covid-19 pandemic and with all the unrest in the world, I was feeling somewhat sad and I thought, "What if you focused on doing a simple, joyful activity every day for 21 days, how would you feel? Would you be happier?" I decided to experiment with the idea and I created a 21 day challenge workshop. I also added in a gratitude component. Everyday you had to think of three things you were grateful for. After 21 days, I felt lighter, happier and more joyful. And it wasn't just me, the participants in my workshop also felt better. With that success, the Joy Lab was born!
